Central England Fibreshed was co-founded by Annie Greatorex and Sarah Jones in 2024. We aim to celebrate and support growers, makers, producers and artisans working with locally-produced fibres and textiles. Grounded in our specific bioregion, we want to build a sustaining and inspiring community that wants to restore connection between the land, plants, humans and animals.
Central England Fibreshed covers fifteen counties across the midlands.
We also welcome roving traders and makers from the canal network.

Fibreshed began in California and is now a global movement focused on developing climate beneficial fibres and building a positive, gentle future for fibre and textiles.
We aim to develop regional fibre systems that are climate beneficial, build soil health and contribute to positive environmental change.
We support our producers and artisans to move towards and develop truly regenerative practices and to use textiles, fibres and dyes grown and produced within their region.
Fibreshed is grounded in the idea of soil-to-soil fibre production. Creating textiles that use only natural fibres, with local roots. Using natural fibres and dyes to create fully biodegradable and compostable garments that can return to the earth at the end of their life cycle.
Help change the future of textiles, and create gentle fibres and textiles that benefit rather than destroy our environment.
If you're a fibre producer or farmer, mill owner, dyer, artisan, or educator we'd love you to become part of the movement.
